Who you work with
I am Slade Placid, and Motion Designs is me, working out of Auckland. You brief the person who makes the videos, and the same person answers your email.
Most of what I make is for New Zealand companies whose product does more than anyone realises. Field service software, retail brands, small studios. The pattern repeats: the product is good, the people who built it can explain it in a two minute conversation, and almost none of that survives the trip to the website.
What I want to do is bring those videos to life with motion graphics, so the explaining is already done before anyone picks up the phone. Good businesses lose work they should have won, for no better reason than nobody understood what they do.
